Mason County & Hood Canal host a variety of parks & recreational facilities to suit every visitor's needs ~ from beach access with shellfish gathering and boat launches to mountain trails, woodland picnic areas & spectacular waterfalls & unique campsites.


Truman Glick County Park | 1291 W Ford Rd Matlock

Open March-September, large covered shelter, barbecue grills, vault toilets, wooden arch bridge over Decker Creek, nature trails good area for family reunions, group picnics, weddings, or receptions. Shelter reservations highly recommended.



Jacoby (Shorecrest) Park | 120 E Shorecrest Parkway, Shelton

Open year round, picnic area, small boat launch, salt water access to Hammersley Inlet (low tide advisory for launch/load of boats) NO SHELLFISH HARVEST.



Latimer's Landing Boat Launch | 51 E Harstine Bridge Rd Shelton

Open year round, portable toilet, picnic tables, boat launch area to pickering passage, case inlet and Puget Sound, boarding float and dock, beach access.



Latimer's Landing Park | 3291 Pickering Rd Shelton

Open year round, picnic tables, portable toilet, parking for Latimer’s Landing boat launch, picnicking, beach access.



Mason County Recreation Area (MCRA) | 2100 E Johns Prairie Rd Shelton

Park office year round; M – F 8 am – 4:30 pm, batting cages Feb – Oct; 9 am – dark, park recreation facilities Mar – Oct; 9 am - dark, restrooms, children’s play area, picnic areas, covered batting cages (4-stations; 2 softball, 2 baseball), two full-sized baseball fields, five baseball/softball fields, seasonal concession (Mar – Aug), on-site caretaker, Mar – June: ball fields used by Shelton High School (home field for all fastpitch & JV baseball games), Mason County Youth Baseball and Fastpitch Associations, June – Aug: Co-Ed softball leagues, June – Aug: most weekends offer some type of tournament activity reservations required for ball field use.



Mason County Skate Park | 110 Wallace Kneeland Boulevard Shelton

Open year round (closed during Shelton School District school hours except youth with parent or guardian and adults). Portable toilet, skate board ramps, picnic tables, recreational & competitive skate boarding & biking.



Oakland Bay Historic Park | 1570 E Agate Bay Rd Shelton

Open year round, open space with limited paths and trails, access to melaney creek and Oakland Bay, vault toilet, site of malaney historical homestead, good spot to take a walk and enjoy Malaney Creek and Oakland Bay. Site of annual native plant workshop sponsored by Mason Conservation District and Capital Land Trust.



Phillips Lake County Park | 50 E Phillips Lake Loop Rd Shelton

Open year round daylight to dusk, small picnic area, passive day use area, adjacent to State of Washington boat launch with vault toilets.



Walker County Park | 2400 SE Walker Park Rd Shelton

Open Mar – Oct, covered shelter, barbecue grills, restrooms, day use picnic area, children’s play area, on site caretaker, good site for group picnics, birthday parties, weddings, reunions, etc, trail to beach, part of Cascadia Marine Trail, reservations for shelter highly recommended, NO SHELLFISH HARVEST.



Brewer Park | 220 W Franklin Shelton

Picnic tables, mature vegetation.



Callanan Park | 400 W E Street Shelton

Ball field, play equipment, restroom, natural area, basketball court.



Huff n Puff Trail | 3600 Shelton Springs Rd Shelton

Two mile jogging trail on watershed.


Johnson Park | 325 E Poplar Shelton

Basketball court, mature trees.



Kneeland Park | 100 Turner Ave Shelton

Large play structure, picnic areas, restroom, horseshoes, open play area, landscaping.



Loop Field | 1020 W Franklin Shelton

Ball field, athletic field, play structure, restroom, picnic shelter.



Overlook Park | 1200 Olympic Highway S Shelton

Historic marker overlooking downtown & mills.



Sixth St. Park | 330 S 6 Street Shelton

Picnic shelter, barbecues, creek.
