President Franklin D. Roosevelt Returns to the Olympic Peninsula

This year is the 80th anniversary of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's visit to the Olympic Peninsula. A president who envisioned tourism and recreation as the future for the Olympic Peninsula

On Sept. 30th - 80 years to the day - FDR and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt returns to Port Angeles as imitators Scott Larsen and Margaret Bauer.

Retracing Roosevelt's tour of the peninsula, they will go to Lake Crescent Lodge as the First Couple. The following day (Oct. 1st), Larsen, a long time Roosevelt historian and collector, will give his talk, 'When FDR Visited Port Angeles', before the Clallam County Historical Society.

On Oct. 2, 'Franklin and Eleanor' will travel to Lake Quinault to dine at the historic Lake Quinault Lodge before heading back to Seattle.
